Skydive Academy are proud to announce the introduction of the Supervan to the Peterlee DZ in 2018. We have been working with Texas Turbine Conversions Inc and with the support of our Bank NatWest and Lombard Aviation Finance have purchased from Texas Turbine Conversions a Honeywell TPE331-12JR engine and 4 blade Hartzell composite propellor. The new kit is now in the UK and our Cessna Grand Caravan Parachuting Aircraft is currently undergoing the conversion at IAE Cranfield. Once fitted the aircraft will be able to be able lift more parachutists to jump altitudes in less time. Whilst the aircraft will have the capability to lift more with less fuel, our plan is 4 back to back lifts of 15 jumpers to 15,000ft up & down in 15 mins, as opposed to the current capability of 12, 13 then 14 jumpers on 3 back to back 22 min lifts; i.e. 60 jumpers in 60 minutes as opposed to 39 jumpers in 66 mins! For our regular jumpers this will mean more 15K lifts in less time. For our Tandem Skydivers this given suitable weather conditions should give us the capability to lift 6 Tandems on every other lift within a 4 lift cycle so 12 Tandem Skydivers jumping per 1 hour aircraft lift cycle; further allowance is of course required for training and packing between lift cycles :-) #SuperVan #TexasTurbine #JustSkydive #PeterleeDZ
